Why We Want You To Be Rich by Donald J. Trump & Robert T. Kiyosaki

It took me quite some time to finish reading this book. (About 1-2 months). But I have learnt alot from it. And I am going to share some of the points that the book cover and will apply it in my life.

Firstly, I learnt a basic principle from this book, which is, 'THINK BIG!' I admit that it's time to think larger for my future in every area. It doesn't cost anything to think big anyway. For me, I just got to learn to stretch my goals in term of spiritual, mental and financial.

I also learnt that it's pointless to complain regardless of whatever situation you are in because by complaining, it won't change anything as well. I need to stop complaining but instead get things done with passion and exuberance. :)

Donald J. Trump says "The worst disservice we can do to ourselves is to expect things to be easy." By experience, I agree to that and don't expect things to be easy because it will turn out to be the opposite. Learn from every negative experience and the next time when you encounter the similiar situation, you will not feel so frustrated. :)

George S. Patton says "Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity." I think this is so true. For me it applys in the music band that I am in. I try my very best not to tell the band members what to do exactly during practice because I know that God will input creativity on them and they will be able to play a more heavenly and a different kind of music.

When you make a mistake, please do not lie about it or pretend you did not make one. Instead take the time to learn from your mistakes, and you will learn faster than those who avoid making mistakes or pretend they do not make any. (This is something I am trying to apply in my life as you know that sometimes it's not easy to admit to our mistakes because of our human pride. I am going to keep telling myself that 'it's ok to make mistake as long as you are willing to learn from it.')

Last but not least, these are the 3 areas that I wish to increase in my life. They are Health, Wealth and Happiness. Health should be the most important because if you do not have it, you will not be able to enjoy the remaining 2. Being healthy for me sometimes is a problem too due to ill-discipline. My aim is to keep up to a healthy lifestyle by working out at least twice per week whether is it running or gyming. My end goal should be having a healthy body to be able to spend more time with my love ones and also to enjoy the wealth and happiness I will be having in the future. :)

Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki

Recently I am reading this book 'Rich Dad Poor Dad' by Robert T. Kiyosaki. It was inspiring as it triggered some thoughts in me for my future. Here are some information and sharing:

Firstly, I understand that just by going to school, get good grades and look for a secure job in the future are not enough. Although my results in school were not very fantastic, I thank God because that is not the end of it. We still have hope! (For those whose school results are also not as good and you are thinking of giving in to life). Education is the foundation of success and is important, so are financial skills and communication skills.

Secondly, I learnt and am convicted that I do not want to be involved in this 'Rat Race' that would bring self-destruction.

Illustrations of 'Rat Race' =) Taken from the book 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'.

- A happy and highly educated young couple recently got married and move in together in a cramped rented apartment.
- Apartment is cramped so they decide to save money to buy their dream home and have kids.
- Both have good income and they begin to focus on their career to realise their dreams.
- As their incomes begin to increase, their expenses increase as well.
- Taxes increase as well.
- Once income is sufficient for the couple, they decide to buy their dream home. When they do that, they are starting to pay property tax as well.
- After which, they continue to buy a new car, new furniture and new appliances to match their new home.
- As a result, credit card debt goes up and now they are trapped in the 'Rat Race'.
- Not only that, a child comes along and this caused the couple to work even harder and the process repeats itself.

All these that I mentioned are not wrong. It has been a process for many couples in life. However, if I can make another choice, I will choose not to go through this same process like many couples did.

What's the solution recommended by this book?

1) Increase your assets and decrease your liabilities.
2) Increase your investment.
3) Be creative and start your own business that does not require you to be there physically all the time but still keep your day time job.

To be continued.......

Songs for my brother's wedding on 19 September 2010

My Brother is officially getting married this sunday 19 September 2010! I am honoured to be the guitarist for the event. These are the 3 songs that i was asked to prepared. The songs title are: 1) Emmanuel, 2) How could I live without You, and 3) Carriers of revival. I would like to flash out the lyrics for the sake of those who do not know the songs.

Emmanuel:

TOGETHER IN THIS PLACE OF WORSHIP
YOUR GREATNESS WE PROCLAIM
WE STAND AS ONE IN GIVING YOU
ALL GLORY AND ACCLAIM
TO YOU OUR HEARTS ARE OPEN
TO YOU OUR HANDS WE RAISE
COME TAKE THE PLACE OF HONOUR IN OUR LIVES

EMMANUEL
OUR GOD IS WITH US
PRINCE OF PEACE
MIGHTY ONE
THE EVER-LIVING GOD

SEE THE PRAISES OF OUR SAVIOUR
RISE TO OPEN SKIES
WITH THE DAWNING OF REDEMPTION
YOUR GLORY WILL ARISE
FOR YOU ALONE ARE WORTHY
HERE IN ZION YOU ARE PRAISED
OUR LORD AND KING FOREVER YOU WILL REIGN

How could I live without You:
How could I live without You
How would I survive
Without Your love
Without Your touch
You're the One that heals me
And cleanses my heart
And sets me free

Now i come right before You
With my hands lifted up
And my heart humbly bowed
At Your work on the cross
As You hung there and die
You were paying the price
For my life, For my life

For Your love is higher than the heavens
is deeper than the seas
And all I want is You in my life
No one else can satisfy my soul
Can make me feel this way
Only You Lord, only You

Carriers of Revival:
WE'VE BEEN BORN INTO THE KINGDOM
FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS
WE'VE CHOSEN TO GO AND BRING FORTH FRUIT

THAT OUR FRUIT WOULD REMAIN
AND WHATEVER WE ASK
YOU WILL GIVE TO US
CALLED TO BE CARRIERS
CARRIERS OF REVIVAL
CALLED TO CARRY THE GLORY OF GOD

EVERYWHERE WE GO, EVERY WORD WE SPEAK
IS TO LIGHT THE FIRES OF YOUR SPIRIT
CALLED TO BE CARRIERS
CARRIERS OF YOUR GLORY

Plans and Personal Goals by the end of the year 2010

Recently I was just thinking through about what do I really want to achieve by the end of this year. In these recent weeks, God has been reviving my past dreams and visions that I thought might have died months or years back and I believe that it's time to chase back those dreams. More than just dreams, there are also just some personal goals that I wish to achieve, especially in my work, so that in the near future, I can have the financial freedom and time to go after the dreams of my life.

Let's start with my personal goals. I started my work in July 2010 and by right, I have a year (until end of June 2011) to clear certain quotas. My aim is to clear that certain quotas by end of Feb 2011. I know that it can be done because the battle is in the mind. Regardless of how people think of me, maybe inexperience? maybe arrogant of my personal goals? maybe incapable of achieving what I set out to do? Those thoughts from others i have come to realise that it's inevitable. I can't tell others of what opinion they should have on me, neither I will try to prove myself to them that I can make it. But one thing I can do, which is, to enjoy what I am doing and to do the best that I can to serve those people who allow me to. :)

'Focus' is the word that I am going to use often to keep my goals on track. It's a simple 5-letter word but it carries a powerful definition behind it. Once you grasp on its spirit and live it out, it will change the course of your life, every area. Let me just give you the meaning from http://www.dictionary.com/.

Focus: 1) To concentrate
           2) To bring to a focus, or into focus

Basically, it just mean zooming in and putting whatever resources that you have into the things that you want to see it coming to pass.

More than just work, I want to stir myself up to a greater purpose, that is to know God more intimately. It's time to put words into action (for my closer friends, they might know what this mean). I am praying for greater miracles and I believe that God will provide! He has been faithful to me and He will continue to show Himself faithful. Definitely, I want to maintain and keep up a lifestyle of reading the Word and praying. More than just daily quiet time, sometimes it's hard to maintain but I know I must put in extra effort so that I can just be closer to Him, I wish to spend a little more time praying with my closer friends through phone and meet up weekly or fortnightly. I realise that these are the little activities that doesn't require much effort, but will keep each other going and basically it's another way of forging brotherhood and matured friendship. Another goal of mine is to spend at least 5 hours weekly on reading books. Knowledge is power.

Last but not least, I want to engage myself more in music, secular and christian music. Music is something that is instilled and became part of me years back and I know that music, especially christian music, is an instrument that God uses to impact and change the lives of the people. So if that's the case, I want to be a part of it, to grow together with a group of revivalist, to see God's dream fulfilled through us in years to come. Even if just only one person was impacted by the music we play, it would have been worth it because we are just serving our Lord as much as we know how. :) I love you my band and I know we can make a difference one day as long as the dreams in our hearts doesn't burn out. Just as we want to change lives one at a time, we will climb up the anointing ladder one step at a time.

No Boundries (Adam Lambert)

This is a nice song and whenever you are not as motivated about your dreams, you can just take some of your precious time to listen and dwell in the music and lyrics. It might/might not help but no harm just listening to it right? If you want to play guitar with it, for male you can try in C key, it will sound good.

No Boundries (Adam Lambert)

Seconds, hours, so many days
You know what you want but how long can you wait?
Every moment lasts forever
When you feel you lost your way

And what if my chances were already gone?
Started believing that I could be wrong
But you give me one good reason
To fight and never walk away

So hear I am still holding on!

With every step you climb another mountain
Every breath it's harder to believe
You make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing
Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can
There are no boundaries!
There are no boundaries!

I fought to the limit to stand on the edge
What if today is as good it gets?
Don't know where the future's headed
But nothing's gonna bring me down

I've jumped every bridge and I've run every line
I've risked being saved but I always knew why
I always knew why!

So hear I am still holding on!

With every step you climb another mountain
Every breath it's harder to believe
You make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
To get to that one thing
Just when you think the road is going nowhere
Just when you almost gave up on your dreams
They take you by the hand and show you that you can

You can go higher, you can go deeper
There are no boundaries above and beneath you
Break every rule 'cause there's nothing between you and your dreams

With every step you climb another mountain
Every breath it's harder to believe
Yeah! There are no boundaries
There are no boundaries!
With every step you climb another mountain
Every breath it's harder to believe
You make it through the pain, weather the hurricanes
There are no boundaries!
There are no boundaries!
There are no boundaries

Incubation: A Law of Faith (By Dr. David Yonggi Cho)

During Asia Conference at end of May 2010, Dr. David Yonggi Cho was invited to City Harvest Church to preach and though i did not understand every word he preached during the conference, i was really inspired by just his presence alone and there was a desire since to want to know his secret of building a great and largest church in Seoul, South Korea and of course, this great man's lifestyle. So i bought 3 of his books which included, 'the fourth dimension volume one' and 'the fourth dimension volume two'.

In 'the fourth dimension volume one', Dr. Cho talked about more about practical faith and its process. As discussed in the bible that 'faith is the substance of things hoped for.' So what are the elements needed to make our faith usable? There are four basic steps to the process of incubation.

1) First, to use your faih, you must be able to envision a CLEAR-CUT OBJECTIVE. If you have only a vague idea about your goal, then you are out of touch with the One who could answer your prayer. You must have a clear and defined faith goal. You must ask DEFINTELY and SPECIFICALLY because the Lord never welcomes vague prayers.

2) Secondly, you should have a BURNING DESIRE for those objectives. God does not like the lukewarm, for He specializes only in the red-hot; if you have that red-hot burning desire, then you are going to have results..

3) Third, you must have the substance, or ASSURANCE. When you have a clear goal, and you have this desire burning in your heart to a boiling point, then you should kneel down and PRAY UNTIL you receive the substance, the assuarance.

4) Fourth, you should show evidence of your faith and SPEAK THE WORD, calling 'those things which be not as if they were'. Claim and speak the word of assurance, for your word actually goes out and creates. God spoke and the whole world came into being. Your word is the material which the Holy Spirit uses to create. There are times for you to pray, but there are also times for you to give the command. You must pray through your prayer closet, but when you come out to the battlefield, you are coming to give the word of creation.
